St Mary’s parish depends entirely on parishioners’ Sunday offerings and we are very grateful to all those who give generously to the parish.
As a charity, the parish is part of the Gift Aid Scheme, which means we can recover the income tax paid by parishioners who elect to be part of this scheme on donations they make. This is extremely important as it enables the parish to recover several thousand pounds from the taxman each year – at no extra cost to you.
If you are a UK tax payer and currently do not Gift Aid your donations to the parish we would like to ask you to seriously consider taking part in the scheme. It will personally cost you nothing but would benefit the parish. All we will ask you to do is complete a Gift Aid declaration.
You can choose to make your donations by setting up a monthly standing order in favour of the parish; alternatively, you may prefer to use weekly envelopes. If you would like a set of envelopes or the bank details required to set up a standing order please contact the Parish Office or download the standing order form below and return to the Parish Priest.
Please note if you are not a UK tax payer and therefore not able to take part in the Gift Aid Scheme you may still choose to make donations in weekly envelopes or set up a standing order.
We would like to assure you that all details regarding donations made will remain confidential.
From 06 April 2011 the amount of Gift Aid that can be claimed from HMRC is 25% of the donation.
