Newsletter 18th July 2021
Dear Friends,
This Sunday we are all called to seek the Lord, our true Guide and Shepherd, that we should turn our focus to Him, and follow Him and dedicate ourselves as His faithful disciples and flock and remember the love with which He has patiently guided us, showed us the way forward, and nurtured us all with generous love and dedication. As we heard in our Scripture passages today, the Lord has always loved us and showed us His kindness, wanting us all to return to Him and be reconciled with Him.
After 12 years working and living at St Mary’s, Father Anthony retired in 2015 from what he described as “the best parish” and returned to Bulwell where he was Baptised and Ordained. Father Anthony has never really ‘retired’ he continues to help Parishes across the Diocese including Grantham and he is one the fittest 82-year-old I know and keeps himself busy. On Friday 23rd July 2021 Father Anthony will celebrate 55 years of Ordination and what a privilege to have him here to celebrate.
There will be a Mass at 7pm on Friday and it would be great to welcome all Parishioners old and new to enjoy this joyous Mass as a Parish
If you do not book, you will be asked to scan the QR code through the NHS App on entry or write your details on a slip and place in the Attendance box.
Father Christopher Thomas celebrates 20 years of Ordination this Saturday 17th July 2021. Father Chris was ordained a Priest in St Barnabas’ Cathedral, Nottingham by Bishop Malcolm McMahon OP in 2001. With thanksgiving may God Bless you on your Ordination Anniversary.
God Bless
Andrew
