Newsletter- 21st Week of Ordinary Time
Dear Parish Family,
As we reflect on the powerful words from the Gospel of John this week, we are reminded of the importance of faith and community in times of challenge. Just as the disciples faced moments of doubt and uncertainty, we too encounter difficult times that test our strength and trust in God. Yet, like Simon Peter, we can confidently say, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.” It is in this spirit of faith that I want to share a personal message of gratitude.
Over the past few weeks, my family and I have been on a challenging journey as our son, Tristan, faced a serious medical situation. Thanks to the incredible skill of his surgeons, Tristan is on the road to recovery, but this path has not been easy. There have been many long days filled with doctor visits, surgeries, and therapy sessions, and Tristan is still in the process of regaining full use of his hands.
During this time, we have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love, prayers, and support from our parish family. Your kind messages, thoughtful cards, and, most importantly, your prayers, have been a tremendous source of comfort to us. Knowing that so many of you were lifting Tristan up in prayer has brought us great peace and strength as a family. We are deeply grateful for your kindness, and Tristan has asked me to pass along his heartfelt thanks as well.
Please continue to keep Tristan in your prayers as he continues his recovery journey. Your support has meant more to us than words can express, and we are truly blessed to be part of such a caring and compassionate community.
In addition, we wish Father Jonathan a wonderfully restful week away. May his time be filled with peace and renewal, and we look forward to welcoming him back from his break on the 3rd of September.
In the spirit of faith and gratitude, let us continue to support one another through the challenges we face, trusting that God is with us every step of the way.
With heartfelt thanks,
Andrew
